Hello
My name is Morgan, I am an emerging Australian Artist. I love to draw and my original artworks are primarily created using LYRA and Prismacolor pencils on cold pressed watercolour paper. I like to collect patterns and shapes from my surroundings and compose them abstractly to reflect memories, emotions and contemplations on life.
My Story
I feel connected to the world around me through art, and my hope in sharing art with you is that it may hold meaning or spark a connection within your life.
I was given my first set of LYRA pencils in primary school and have carried a constantly expanding set of pencils with me ever since. I have found unlimited joy in their myriad of colours and their ability to shade and blend with one another in magical ways.
I studied visual arts throughout secondary school and received a 20/20 Merit Award for Visual Arts Studies in Year 12. My tertiary education comprised of a Bachelor of Architectural Studies at UniSA and a Master of Architecture at RMIT University. This has influenced my perspective on the world, shaped me as an individual, and contributed to my approach as an artist.
Throughout my career, my passion for drawing has remained strong and I have gained some exposure as an artist by displaying works in community gallery exhibitions, completing a number of commissions for family and friends, and selling art prints in local cafes. My goals for 2022 are: to complete a series of drawings for my first solo exhibition, and to fulfil my childhood ambition of writing and illustrating a children's book.
